I find that printed out photos are a great gift, not only because they feel more sentimental than digital photos, but especially for grandparents and little ones who aren’t used to digital tablets or don’t own a digital picture frame.
How do I get my free photos?
Time needed: 5 minutes.
- Visit the Walgreens Photo Center and choose 8″x10″ from the drop-down
(just below where it says “SIZE”)
- Click on the giant green “Create Now” button and upload your image, then click “Add to Order”.
(Please note that if you don’t already have an account with Walgreens, you will be prompted to create one during this step. If you already have a Walgreens account, but aren’t logged in, they will ask you to sign in during this step.)
- Proceed to the shopping cart

- Continue to Checkout
- Select in-store pickup near you
(to save on any shipping fees)
Your total price will be displayed as FREE! That’s all there is to it.
Bonus tip: To get the highest possible quality photo, just before you submit your photo, make sure you click “upload preference” and choose the “full resolution” option located at the bottom right of the screen. Some users have complained of less than optimal looking photos when they don’t complete this step.
What is Walgreens’ in-store pickup process?
When you go to pick up your photos at the Walgreens store, they will probably ask you for your last name as well as the phone number associated with your account. Just to make sure every thing is in order, it may be a good idea to call the store ahead of time and ask them what proof of identify they require.
Another thing to keep in mind is that not all Walgreens locations have the same store hours. And even when the store is open, the in-store photographer (or a suitably knowledgeable assistant) may not be available to print out your photos very early in the morning or very late at night, if your store is open during those times.
